[Class 87 (ii)] An extrusion machine, particularly for rubber compositions, has one half of the head 1 fixed to the machine while the other half 2 is hingedly mounted thereon so as to expose the interior of the head for cleaning, complementary abutments 6, 7 being provided on the two halves to relieve the strain on the pivot pin 3 during extrusion. The two halves are clamped in closed position by bolts pivoted on the lower half 1. Cavities 4, 5 are provided for heating or cooling media and means may be provided for facilitating the opening of the head.
