<p>Disclosed is a catalyst for methacrylic acid production, which enables production of a methacrylic acid with high yield by catalytically oxidizing methacrolein in a vapor phase with a molecular oxygen. A method for producing the catalyst and a method for producing a methacrylic acid by using the catalyst are also disclosed. A catalyst for methacrylic acid production containing molybdenum and phosphorus as catalyst components is produced by a method which comprises (1) a step wherein an organic binder (B1) is added into a mixed solution or slurry containing raw material compounds for the catalyst components, and then the resulting is dried; (2) a step wherein the thus-obtained dried material, a liquid and an organic binder (B2) are kneaded; and (3) a step wherein a molded body is obtained by extrusion molding the thus-obtained kneaded material.</p> |
