PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce fluctuations in speed of an intermediate transfer belt occurring when paper enters a secondary transfer unit to obtain high-quality images.SOLUTION: There is provided an intermediate transfer device used in an image forming apparatus including a plurality of photoreceptor drums. The intermediate transfer device includes an intermediate transfer belt 5, and a secondary transfer roller 7 that is pressed against the intermediate transfer belt 5 to secondarily transfer a toner image on the intermediate transfer belt 5 to transfer paper P. The intermediate transfer belt 5 is laid over an opposing roller 15 that receives pressing force of a drive roller 11, primary transfer roller, driven rollers 12 and 13, and secondary transfer roller 7. The secondary transfer roller 7 is located offset on the upstream side in the direction of movement of the intermediate transfer belt 5 with respect to a winding portion of the opposing roller 15 around the intermediate transfer belt 5. Any of the rollers over which the intermediate transfer belt 5 is laid is provided with a dynamic vibration absorber that reduces a gain at a resonance point of frequency response characteristics of a drive conveyance and transfer system between the rollers over which the intermediate transfer belt 5 is laid. |
