PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide effective new techniques and tools that integrate low cost sensing devices with computer-aided design and other tools.SOLUTION: A computer receives a set of spatial coordinates from a motion-sensing input device, the spatial coordinates describing a position of at least one joint of a limb of a human model 150. The computer sends the set of spatial coordinates to a computer-aided design application 132 representing movements of an ergonomic manikin 150 based on changes in limb angles described by a plurality of instances of angle data. The computer receives angle specifications from the computer-aided design application 132, the angle specifications corresponding to an angle of the limb in at least one three-dimensional plane. The computer converts the set of spatial coordinates to angle data in accordance with the received angle specifications, the angle data describing positioning of the limb.
|
