A gas circuit breaker comprises: a first contact unit having a first arc induction contact; a second contact unit having a second arc induction contact formed to be able to relatively move to the first arc induction contact so as to be a state being in contact with the first arc induction contact or a state being separated from the first arc induction contact; a gas chamber storing arc-quenching gas to quench arc which is generated between the first arc induction contact and the second arc induction contact when the first arc induction contact and the second arc induction contact are separated; a gas spray nozzle made of an insulating material and forming a spray passage for the arc-quenching gas; and an arc length limiting contact disposed to be spaced apart from the second arc induction contact and configured to move together with the second arc induction contact when the second arc induction contact moves, and when the first arc induction contact, and the second arc induction contact are spaced apart to the maximum distance, the arc length limiting contact is configured to move so that the end of the second arc induction contact side is positioned at a point passing an end of the first arc induction contact. |
