PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microscope capable of observing a sample without being restricted in the size of the sample while using the advantage of a conventional SPIM microscope.SOLUTION: The microscope includes: a sample arrangement unit (10) including an arrangement surface (11) for supporting a sample (12) and a lower surface (13) facing the arrangement surface; a lens (31) for observation; and an optical unit (20) for generating sheet light. The sheet light passes through the sample arrangement unit from the lower surface, and is radiated to the sample. The fluorescence from the sample passes through the sample arrangement unit toward the lower surface, and is received by the lens for observation.
