摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal aligning agent which hardly induces changes in viscosity at room temperature and prevents cissing during application of the aligning agent or whitening in an alignment film after formed, and to provide a liquid crystal display element which has a liquid crystal alignment layer formed from the above aligning agent and which exhibits excellent afterimage characteristics and good alignment stability.SOLUTION: A liquid crystal alignment layer is formed by using the following liquid crystal aligning agent. The liquid crystal aligning agent is a solution comprising a solvent and a polyamic acid or its derivative obtained by reacting a tetracarboxylic acid dianhydride with diamine, where the solvent includes at least one compound expressed by formula (A) shown below. In the formula, Rand Reach independently represent an alkyl having 1 to 3 carbon atoms.</p>
