A counting unit counts the numbers of times each reaction vessel (3) has been used for a specific reagent item and stores the numbers in a storage unit. A determination unit determines whether a counted number of uses exceeds a prescribed threshold N1. If the counted number of uses exceeds the prescribed threshold N1, a control unit controls the R1 sample sampling mechanism (8) so that the reaction vessel (3) for which the number of uses exceeds the prescribed threshold N1 is soaked using the special detergent for a period of time less than or equal to a value obtained when a dispensing cycle time representing the period of sample dispensing is multiplied by the total number of reaction vessels and a prescribed integer.
