<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To measure distance correctly, while eliminating inappropriate measured result. <P>SOLUTION: The range finder is composed of: a laser driver 4 for driving the semiconductor laser 1, in such a way that a first oscillation interval increases the oscillation wavelength and a second oscillation interval decreases the oscillation wavelength that alternately exist; a photodiode 2 for converting the laser light, transmitted from a semiconductor laser 1 and the returned light from a measurement object 12, into electrical signals; a counting device 8 for counting the number of interference wave forms generated by the laser light and returned light contained in the output signal of the photodiode 2, and determines the effectiveness of the counting results, based on the change of the number of interference wave form in the counting period; and an operation device 9 for obtaining the distance to the measurement object 12 from the counted results that have been determined as being effective by the counting device 8. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
