<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a test method for optical fiber identification, enabling identification of an optical fiber having bending resistance by a simple optical fiber identification method. <P>SOLUTION: The test method includes the steps of installing a coiled cyclic polarization change giving section 1 on the optical fiber 3, entering a pulsed light from one side of the optical fiber 3, measuring a time change of polarization components of a back scattered light by the pulsed light, and performing optical fiber identification based on an intensity change cycle of the polarization components. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
