The present invention relates to a method and a system for generating a database based on a substation configuration description language (SCL). According to the present invention, the system divides the SCL into a substation model, a communication model, and an IED model according to SCL object models, parses the SCL according to the SCL object models, and stores information acquired by parsing each SCL object model in a database.
