<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for detecting seizure of a slipper-type spindle joint, which can detect seizure of a slipper-type spindle joint prepared at a roll side end part of a spindle for transmitting the rotary torque of a roll driving motor to rolling mill rolls without requiring human experience or manpower. <P>SOLUTION: A thermocouple 20a installed facing an outer circumferential surface of a coupling 171 on the spindle side is moved till it comes into contact with the surface of a Falk coupling 173 when the rotation of the rolling mill roll 11a is stopped, and the seizure of a slipper-type spindle joint 17 is detected based on the temperature on the surface of the Falk coupling 173 measured by the thermocouple 20a. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT</p> |
