COMMUNICATION SYSTEM, BASE STATION, TERMINAL, AND BASE STATION POWER SAVING CONTROL METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication system that is able to reduce power in a base station while securing service quality to a terminal.SOLUTION: A communication system comprises a terminal 200 and base stations 100 and 101 that communicate with the terminal 200 by CoMP. Each of the base stations 100 and 101 determines a pilot signal transmission sequence pattern and pilot signal transmission timing in coordination with the other base station. At prescribed pilot signal transmission timing, one base station transmits a pilot signal to the terminal 200, at the next pilot signal transmission timing, the other base station transmits a pilot signal to the terminal 200, and thereby each of the base stations intermittently transmits its pilot signal. The terminal 200 receives a pilot signal at the next reception timing from a base station different from a base station that was a transmission source of a pilot signal received at the previous time.
