PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition for volume hologram recording material and a hologram recording medium using the composition which are capable of permanently forming a hologram having extremely low light scattering loss and high diffraction efficiency.SOLUTION: There is provided a composition for volume hologram recording material which is used for forming a pattern by pattern exposure and a hologram recording medium using the composition. The composition contains: (a) polymerizable compound, (b) photopolymerization initiator, (c) triazine ring-containing hyperbranched polymer, and (d) vinyl monomer and/or (meta) acrylic monomer having ether or an amide structure.
