<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber for irradiation including an inexpensive probing light source, capable of additionally providing a high spatial resolution of approximately 5 mm or less to a fiber sensor and showing an accurate detection position at a pinpoint.SOLUTION: An optical fiber for irradiation has first and second ends and allows multiple simultaneous irradiation from various light sources to an optical fiber 98 having a core and at least one of exposed core areas from a distant reflecting end surface 148 by an optical fiber 152 supplying probing light and a plurality of probing light sources (100, 100' and 100''). The probing light irradiates the exposed core area from a side surface and substantially is coupled into the core as irradiation light 150.</p> |
