Anchor bolt assembly and method for its use. Anchor bolt for supporting and stabilizing the ceilings of mines, comprising of an anchor lock and an anchor bolt. The anchor lock comprises at least two sleeves connected together in one end by finger elements and a connecting element, and a cylindrical or conical plug having inner thread for receiving the anchor bolt whereas the plug is dimensioned to push the sleeves apart when pulled between the sleeves by anchor bolt. The connection element has an opening larger than the diameter of the anchor bolt and the anchor bolt has a fixing element in its end to stop the anchor bolt from exiting from the anchor lock.
