A monitoring apparatus includes: an input port which is configured to receive an input signal from a battery system management (BSM); an output port which is configured to output a cell parameter used in determining an open cell voltage related with one of a plurality of cells in a battery stack connected to a monitoring circuit, on the basis of the input signal received from the BSM; a processor; and a memory stored with a command which can be executed to measure a cell voltage related with one of the cells in the battery stack, measure a voltage drop related with a measured cell balancing current, calculate an open cell voltage by adjusting the measured cell voltage on the basis of the measured voltage drop, and balance the battery stack on the basis of the calculated open cell voltage, by the processor. |
