<p>The present invention is characterized by the provision of the following: a sensor (2) that detects the presence or absence of a human body and outputs a detection value; and a control unit (4) that periodically samples the detection value from the sensor (2), computes a criterion for determining the presence or absence of a human body on the basis of the sampled detection values, and if it is determined on the basis of said criterion that a human body is not present, transitions from a display mode to a power-saving mode in which, at least, an image display unit is stopped from displaying. The present invention is also characterized in that after transitioning to the power-saving mode, the control unit (4) changes the method for computing the criterion used in the determination to a method that differs from the one used in the display mode.</p> |
