The present invention relates to a composition for protecting against radioactivity, and more specifically relates to a composition for protecting against radioactivity which comprises a fisetin compound as an active ingredient. The composition for protecting against radioactivity which comprises a fisetin compound as an active ingredient according to the present invention is effective in scavenging oxygen radicals constituted by harmful active oxygen generated when radioactivity is irradiated, is effective in suppressing damage to lipid membranes and proteins and damage to DNA caused by radioactivity irradiation, and is effective in suppressing apoptosis caused by radioactivity irradiation by suppressing the expression of apoptosis-promoting factors while conversely promoting the expression of apoptosis-suppressing factors and by at the same time reducing the mitochondrial action potential. Further the composition for protecting against radioactivity according to the present invention is not toxic, has few side effects and is safe in the human body and thus can advantageously be used in diverse working environments where there is a risk of exposure to radioactivity.
