An apparatus and a method for detecting a paint leak are provided. The apparatus for detecting a paint leak includes: an air supply unit which supplies air to spray paint stored in a paint container; a sensor unit which detects whether remaining paint is collected to the paint container after the paint is sprayed by air supplied by the air supply unit; a control signal generating unit which generates a blocking signal for blocking supplied air when collected paint is not detected; a blocking unit which blocks air supplied by the air supply unit according to the generated blocking signal; and a push button switch which detects whether air supply resumes after air is blocked by the blocking unit, wherein when time when the push button switch is pressed is greater than or equal to a predetermined time, the control signal generating unit controls the air supply unit to supply air again so that the pollution of various equipment caused by a paint leak can be prevented and the history management of slabs can be smoothly performed. |
