PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To assist a surgeon in decision of the site to be excised when an excision operation of a tubular organ is performed.SOLUTION: A surgery assistance apparatus 3 comprises: an organ area extract unit 33 for extracting a tubular organ area C from a three-dimensional image D in which the tubular organ and the blood vessels ruling the tubular organ are photographed; a blood vessel area extract unit 35 for extracting a blood vessel area V ruling the tubular organ C from the three-dimensional image D; a bifurcation structure extract unit 36 for extracting the bifurcation structure S of the blood vessels from the extracted blood vessel area V; and a ruled area specification unit 37 which, with respect to an arbitrary partial blood vessel corresponding to a branch one or more times higher than the branch containing the terminal of the extracted bifurcation structure S, determines the ruled area FC ruled by the partial blood vessel in the tubular organ area C, by using the positional relationship between the tubular organ area C and a plurality of terminal points at the final branching destination routed from the branch of the partial blood vessel. |
