<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase a probability of restoring a lost packet without increasing the redundancy of FEC processing.SOLUTION: A transmitter 1 collects a plurality of MPEG-2 TS or MPEG-2 TTS packets and makes them into one RTP packet, and collects a plurality of RTP packets and transmits them together with an added FEC packet. A receiver 5 receives the plurality of RTP packets and the FEC packet. If in the transmission process, packet loss occurs to first and second RTP packets of the plurality of RTP packets, the first RTP packet is a null RTP packet, i.e. all of the RTP payload part is a null TS, and the second RTP packet includes one or more TS which are not null TS in the RTP payload part, a null RTP packet restoration unit 7 of the receiver 5 restores the first RTP packet. After the first RTP packet is restored, a FEC restoration unit 8 of the receiver restores the second RTP packet by FEC processing using the FEC packet.</p> |
