PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compressor electric motor of a turbo refrigerator capable of preventing a reduction in oil viscosity due to an oil temperature decrease and preventing a degradation in refrigerator efficiency by reducing the leakage of liquid refrigerant from a labyrinth seal portion for sealing the rotational shaft of an electric motor that drives a turbo compressor to a casing in which an oil reservoir is provided.SOLUTION: In an electric motor that drives a turbo compressor in a turbo refrigerator, a labyrinth seal member 20 is provided so as to include a labyrinth seal LS formed of a tooth row for sealing a rotational shaft 12 of the electric motor while being opposed to an outer circumferential surface of the rotational shaft 12. The labyrinth seal member 20 includes an extension 21e having an inner peripheral surface in a generally circular truncated cone shape, arranged closer to an axially central portion of the rotational shaft 12 than the labyrinth seal formed of the tooth row, and spreading toward the central portion of the rotational shaft 12 in the form of an unfolded fan.
