PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell stack equipped with an external manifold sealing structure capable of preventing not only a liquid or gas leak during operation but also a minute effusion of water from inside a cell stack during stoppage and safekeeping.SOLUTION: A fuel cell stack comprises: a laminate formed by layering a plurality of unit cells provided with a membrane electrode composite body for holding a solid polymer electrolyte membrane with gas diffusion electrodes, a first separator having a fuel gas circulation path and a second separator having an oxidant gas circulation path one on top of another; external fuel gas manifolds 31, 32 disposed on a side face in which the fuel gas circulation path of the laminate is open and communicating with the fuel gas circulation path; and external oxidant gas manifolds 21, 22 disposed on a side face in which the oxidant gas circulation path of the laminate is open and communicating with the oxidant gas circulation path, the external fuel gas manifolds and external oxidant gas manifolds and the laminate being sealed with a first sealing member, and the adjacent external fuel gas manifolds and external oxidant gas manifolds being sealed with a second sealing member. |
