<p>The present invention refers to a two-axes tracking system for a parabolic trough, which allows the collector to be positioned facing the sun at any moment. The invention has a support structure, mechanical transmission gearbox and a control unit. The use of mathematical relationships that determine the position of the sun in any day of the year and at any hour of the day, may generate an algorithm actuated by a micro controller that enables the actuation of two direct current motors, one for rising motion (0 a 90°) and the other for azimuth motion (0 a 180°), which by means of the mechanical transmission gearboxes, which have two gear reductions, will activate two transmission shafts for obtaining a substantial torque at a low speed with an angular displacement precision equal to 1°. Within the control programming, the user is enabled for introducing latitude, length, date and hour of the geographic zone where the collector is operated by means of a keyboard, thus the collector may b e arranged in direct line against the sun for collecting the maximum amount of energy. The system refers to equipment easily manipulated by the user, which enables the exchange of collector devices not larger than 2.0 m of diameter and 40 Kg of weight.</p> |
