PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine fuel pressure control device that can suppress use of a fuel injection pulse width smaller than a minimum fuel injection pulse width, while suppressing deterioration of mist formation of fuel. SOLUTION: The engine fuel pressure control device includes: an injector 52 injecting fuel into a fuel combustion chamber 2a; and a high pressure fuel pump 45 supplying high pressure fuel to the injector 52. The engine fuel pressure control device includes a fuel pressure lowering means for lowering the fuel pressure in the high pressure fuel pump under prescribed conditions where a calculated fuel injection pulse width is smaller than a predetermined minimum fuel injection pulse widthτmin and the deterioration of mist formation in the combustion chamber has less effect.
