<p>A method and a terminal for displaying a list of items are provided. The method includes determining items to be displayed, each item having a title, determining a set of items in which at least one of a length and a rate of a coinciding portion of the titles of the determined items is greater than a preset value, displaying the set using a portion that coincides with the titles of the items, as the title of the set, receiving a set selection input, and displaying a list of items included in a set selected by the set selection input.
