Provided is a hydrostatic gas bearing device configured so that the axis alignment of an object to be supported is facilitated regardless of the size of the object to be supported. A hydrostatic gas bearing device (1) is provided with: hydrostatic gas bearing pads (2) which are provided with support surfaces (20) for supporting without contact a solid cylindrical object to be supported (not shown); a hollow cylindrical housing (3) which holds the hydrostatic gas bearing pads (2); and a pair of brackets (4) which supports the housing (3). In order to dispose the support surfaces (20) on the inner peripheral surface (30) of the housing (3) along the outer peripheral surface of the object to be supported, the hydrostatic gas bearing pads (2) are attached to the inner peripheral surface (30) of the housing (3) so as to be arranged in the direction (alpha) along the outer periphery of the object to be supported or in the axial direction (beta) of the object to be supported. |
