PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a valve timing adjusting device capable of easily detaching a lock member from a lock hole even while an engine is stopped and cam torque continues to act on a cam shaft in one direction.SOLUTION: In a valve timing adjusting device, a relative rotation phase is held at an intermediate phase when an inner pin 51A of a first lock mechanism 50A enters into a lock hole 60A. Then, the relative rotation phase is held at a most delay angle phase when an inner pin 51B of a second lock mechanism 50B enters into a lock hole 60B. A control device of the valve timing adjusting device continues phase holding processing for holding the relative rotation phase between the intermediate phase and the most delay angle phase until rotation of the cam shaft stops by stopping the engine when an engine stop request is made. |
