This method for producing organic electroluminescent devices using a roll-to-roll system comprises a step in which, in the course of conveying a strip-like support substrate (21), whereon organic electroluminescent elements are formed, in a longitudinal direction while applying tension to the substrate, a strip-like encapsulation substrate (5) that is conveyed while applying tension is affixed on the support substrate (21). Either one of the support substrate (21) or the encapsulation substrate (5) has a larger modulus of elasticity than the other substrate. In the aforementioned step, a tension of 170 N/m or less is applied to the substrate with the smaller modulus of elasticity, and a tension larger than the tension applied to the substrate with the smaller modulus of elasticity is applied to the substrate with the larger modulus of elasticity. |
