PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motor drive unit capable of returning to a home position without fail when electric power supply is lost due to power stoppage, exhaustion of a battery or a failure of power source wiring, and an electric lock having the same.SOLUTION: The electric lock has a motor drive unit which comprises: a motor 1; a movable unit 2 which moves by converting a rotational motion of the motor into a linear motion; an electric magnet 3 incorporated in the movable unit 2; a shaft 5 having an electromagnetic attraction piece 4 on one end; and shaft holders 7, 8 for supporting the shaft 5 so as to push the other end of the shaft out of the holders by means of a spring 6. |
