<p>A rock cracking assembly comprises a rock cracking cartridge (1,1') and a detonator (30) with a detonator sleeve (31). Prior to priming, the rock cracking cartridge contains a rock cracking powder charge(6) in a closed space (5) in an outer sleeve (2) which is closed by a plug (4) in one end. A channel extends through the plug. The channel is closed in a front end by a membrane (20) which forms an integrated part of the plug, which consists of a polymeric material. During the priming operation, the detonator with the detonator sleeve is pressed against the membrane causing it to rupture and then further on into the rock cracking powder charge, so that the powder charge is compacted and completely fills the closed space in said sleeve. In the final phase, a rear portion (37) of the detonator sleeve is brought into sealing contact with the wall of a section (18) of said channel in the plug.</p> |
