The present invention relates to an apparatus and method for controlling the safety of a vehicle window which can correctly detect that a human body or foreign substance is put between the window and a window frame during the operation of a power window, thereby preventing the safety accident caused by the operation of the power window in advance. A first sensor for detecting the human body determines whether a portion of the human body is put between the window and the window frame during the operation of the power window. Even though a detection signal is not detected by the first sensor, a second sensor for detecting pressure determines whether the human body or an article, such as a bag or an edge of clothes, is put between the window and the window frame, so that the apparatus correctly determines that the human body or the article is put between the window and the window frame, thereby stopping the rise of the window and reversely operating the window in a lower direction. |
