OCCLUSIVE DEVICE DELIVERY SYSTEM WITH MECHANICAL DETACHMENT

An embolic coil delivery system comprises a delivery tube with lumen. A proximal end coil coupling unit is arranged between the delivery tube and an embolic coil. A detachable wire with a terminating feature arranged on the distal end can be inserted through the lumen and enters the proximal end of the delivery tube and is extended to the proximal direction. At least one stretch resistant member is arranged in the lumen formed by the embolic coil. Each distal end of at least one the stretch resistant member is fixed on the distal end of the embolic coil while each of the at least one stretch resistant member is also fixed near the proximal end of the embolic coil. The distal end of the delivery tube is maintained while physically contacted to the proximal coupling unit by the wire without being attached to the proximal coupling unit in any method.
