An object point acquisition part acquires three-dimensional information of a plurality of object points. A hologram pattern generation part obtains non-rectangular hologram patterns independently corresponding to the object points. A hologram pattern overlapping part overlaps a plurality of the non-rectangular hologram patterns to form hologram image data. A backlight unit irradiates backlight. A space optical modulator spatially modulates the backlight based on the hologram image data to output spatially modulated light. A shape of each non-rectangular hologram pattern may be a cross.
