PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an internal combustion engine capable of improving fuel efficiency by supplying liquefied gas fuel being pressurized from a fuel tank into a high pressure pump without using a feed pump or an air compressor requiring driving force, and to provide a fuel supply method for the same.SOLUTION: An internal combustion engine 1 includes a decompression mechanism 11 for extracting compressed air generated in a cylinder 3 of the engine 1 when DME is not injected from an injector 4, and a compressed air supply flow path 12 for guiding the compressed air from the decompression mechanism 11 into a fuel tank 6. It further includes a fuel supply flow path 10 for supplying the DME pressurized by the compressed air from the fuel tank 6 into a high pressure pump 7. |
