发明名称 WATERFOWL DECOY WITH LIFELIKE FEEDING MOVEMENT
摘要 A motorized decoy provides lifelike feeding motion by rotating a weighted head through a full 360 degrees. As the head passes the upper apex of rotation, a drive cam located on the drive shaft disengages from a cam located on the decoy head, thereby allowing the head to accelerate and plunge quickly into the water. This action simultaneously causes the rear of the decoy to rotate to a vertical orientation. The head pauses under water until the drive cam re-engages the head cam at the bottom point of the rotation and continues to rotate the head through a channel in the body. This redistribution of weight causes the body to return to a horizontal position. The head rotation continues to the apex and the cycle repeats. This motion also disturbs the surface of the water surrounding the decoy, which can impart motion to adjacent static waterfowl decoys.

主权项 1. A method of providing a motorized waterfowl decoy with a simulated lifelike waterfowl feeding behavior on a body of water, the method comprising: securing a decoy head on a decoy body so that the head can rotate through a full 360 degrees; rotating the head with a motor between an inverted head position and an apex of the hear rotation by engaging a forward cam surface of a drive shaft with a rear cam surface defined in a recess of the decoy head; disengaging the forward cam surface of the drive shaft from the rear cam surface of the decoy head as the head passes the apex and approaches the body of water so that the head accelerates to a rotational velocity before reaching the water that is greater than the rotational velocity of the motor; plunging the head into the water until the head reaches the inverted head position; tipping a body of the decoy such that it is generally vertically aligned with a tail portion extending upwards when the head reaches the inverted head position; pausing rotation of the head at the inverted head position until the forward cam surface of the drive shaft again engages the rear cam surface of the decoy head; disturbs the surface of the water surrounding the decoy, which can impart motion to adjacent static waterfowl decoys; and passing the head through a channel in the decoy body as the head is rotated by the motor to the apex of rotation.
