providing a substrate; and simultaneously coating two or more solutions onto the substrate under laminar flow such that a non-porous layer solution is simultaneously coated on a first porous layer solution; wherein the first porous layer solution comprises an electrode ink and the non-porous layer solution comprises a membrane solution.
