A system and associated method for manipulating tissues and anatomical or other structures in medical applications for the purpose of treating diseases or disorders or other purposes. In one aspect, the system includes a delivery device configured to deploy and implant anchor devices for creating continuous defects or indentations in lobes of a prostate.

1. A system for creating a continuous indentation in a prostatic urethra, comprising:
a delivery device sized and configured to be placed within a urethra, the delivery device including at least a first projecting needle and a second projecting needle and a first needle housing receiving the first needle and a second needle housing receiving a second needle, wherein at least one projecting needle is configured to project transverse to a longitudinal axis of a distal end portion of the first or second needle housing; a first distal anchor component and a second distal anchor component each initially housed within and deployable to an outside surface of a prostate by the delivery device while the delivery device remains within the urethra; and at least one proximal anchor component attached to each of the first and second distal anchors.
