PURPOSE:To obtain a particle board having perfect water and humidity resistance by heating chips in a specified incombustible gas atmosphere and at a specified temp. and by removing thereby completely water and liquid in the resin. CONSTITUTION:Chips are put in a tank for treating and heating and the air in the tank is evacuated to make an atmosphere of more than 95% incombustible gas in the tank. By heating and keeping the temp. in the tank at an elevated temp. between 100 and 200 deg.C, water and liquid in the chips in the tank are completely removed. As fibrous structures only thereby remain, an adhesive penetrates into the inner system of the vessels and the bonding strength between chips becomes larger. The mixture of the chips with the adhesive is molded into a plate and then treated by hot pressing, cutting in a specified dimension and polishing to complete a particle board.
