The present invention relates to an anti-obesity composition containing an extract of Dendropanax morbifera as an active ingredient. The anti-obesity composition is highly effective for preventing and alleviating obesity. In particular, the anti-obesity composition prevents and alleviates obesity by inhibiting generation of fat in the human body. The extract of Dendropanax morbifera is obtained by using a solvent selected from a group consisting of ethanol, ethyl acetate, and n-butanol.
