<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To more surely prevent an image defect caused by a cleaning failure and toner scattering and toner dropping from an intermediate transfer cleaning unit than heretofore, without complicating the structure.SOLUTION: A belt cleaning device 120 includes a recovery roller 1222, a cleaning blade 1231 scraping toner on the surface of the recovery roller 1222, a seal material 1232 coming into flexible contact with the surface of the recovery roller 1222, to prevent the backflow of the toner, a first thrust mechanism 20A receiving a rotational drive force transmitted to the recovery roller 1222, to thrust-move the recovery roller 1222 in the direction of its rotational axis, and a second thrust mechanism 20B thrust-moving the cleaning blade 1231 in the direction of the rotational axis of the recovery roller 1222 at a thrust cycle shorter than the thrust cycle of the recovery roller 1222 by the first thrust mechanism 20A.</p> |
