PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture a permanent magnet dynamo-electric machine ensuring highly efficient operation in the entire operation region of variable speed.SOLUTION: A permanent magnet dynamo-electric machine drive system includes a stator 10 having an armature wiring 12, a rotor 20 magnetized with a current flowing through the armature wiring, and having a plurality of permanent magnets 22 for changing the number of poles as the rotor depending on the magnetization mode, a plurality of power semiconductor elements Q1-Q4 connected with the armature winding 12 of the stator 10 and converting the number of phases and poles of the armature winding, and a winding connection switching circuit 50 performing connection switching of winding by switching of the plurality of power semiconductor elements. The winding connection switching circuit converts the number of poles of armature winding by connection switching of the armature winding 12, irreversibly magnetizes the plurality of permanent magnets 22 of the rotor 20 by the magnetization current flowing through the armature winding after connection switching thereof, and converts the number of poles as the rotor depending on the magnetization mode thereof. |
