PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an actuator capable of generating a desired damping force when functioning as a damper.SOLUTION: An actuator includes: a rod side chamber 5 and a piston side chamber 6 partitioned by a piston 3; a tank 7; a first on-off valve 9 for communicating/blocking the rod side chamber 5 and the piston side chamber 6; a second on-off valve 11 for communicating/blocking the piston side chamber 6 and the tank 7; a suction passage 21 for allowing a liquid to flow in from the tank 7 to the piston side chamber 6; a rectifying passage 20 for allowing the liquid to flow in from the piston side chamber 6 to the rod side chamber 5; a pump 12 for supplying the liquid to the rod side chamber 5; a first and a second discharge passages 18 and 22 for connecting the rod side chamber 5 to the tank 7; a first passive valve 19 provided in the first discharge passage 18; a second passive valve 23 provided in the second discharge passage 22; and a third on-off valve 24 for communicating/blocking the first discharge passage 18. |
