<p>The present invention relates to a method for controlling a banknote processing device capable of sensing, reporting, and integrally managing a counterfeit banknote. The method for controlling the banknote processing device comprises the following steps. A control unit senses a banknote inserted through an insertion sensing unit. The control unit determines whether or not the banknote is counterfeited. The control unit acquires a serial number of the banknote determined as being counterfeited through an image acquiring unit. The control unit transmits counterfeit banknote information, including the serial number, to a counterfeit banknote management system of a central bank through a communication unit. According to the present invention, a black list for a counterfeit banknote established in the counterfeit banknote management system of the central bank is received and it is determined whether or not the banknote is counterfeited, based on the received black list, thereby improving the accuracy of counterfeit banknote determination in each banking institution. In addition, since information on the counterfeit banknote determined in each banking institution is concentrated on the central bank just by an action of manipulating a button of the banknote processing device, the number of the counterfeit banknotes and the counterfeit method can be integrally managed.</p> |
