The station (1) has buffer containers (2, 3) for containing pressurized gas and for filling a tank (11) of a vehicle in successive pressure balancing phases. A compressor (5) and the containers are connected to a common supply line (6) through conduits (12, 13) and valves (V4, V5) in a parallel manner. The supply line is connected to the tank to be filled. The supply line and/or the conduits comprise a fluidic connector (20) that selectively connects the supply line and the conduits with an emergency pressurized gas container (21). An independent claim is also included for a method for filling a tank of a vehicle with fuel gas containing hydrogen.
