The console assembly has a housing assembly (4) in which a covering portion (6) is arranged. Several operation switches and retention device (10) are arranged in storage spaces of the housing assembly. A touch screen surface (8) is detached from the housing assembly to arrange a contact picture screen fixture. The retention device has a plug contact portion (22) which is provided in releasable connection with the touch screen surface. A clamping unit (18,20) is provided for clamping picture screen surface.
