The present invention relates to a composition for diluting car paint comprising a mixture of natural and synthetic alcohol esters, said alcohol esters being isopentyl acetate, which is a natural alcohol ester derived from sugar cane, and sec-butyl acetate, which is a synthetic alcohol ester with low toxicity which is highly effective when used and reduces the production of pollutants in the atmosphere (ozone). Furthermore, the present invention relates to the use of said composition for diluting car paint in paints, varnishes or thinners used for painting cars.
