A nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery which comprises an electrode element, wherein a positive electrode and a negative electrode are arranged to face each other, a nonaqueous electrolyte solution, and an outer case which internally contains the electrode element and the nonaqueous electrolyte solution. This nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery is characterized in that: the nonaqueous electrolyte solution contains a cyclic sulfonic acid ester that is represented by general formula (1); and the positive electrode active material in the positive electrode is a mixture of a lithium manganese composite oxide having a spinel structure and a lithium transition metal composite compound having a layered rock salt structure. (In general formula (1), each of R1 and R2 independently represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group having 1-5 carbon atoms, a halogen group or an amino group, provided that R1 and R2 are not hydrogen atoms at the same time; and R3 represents a linking group which is selected from the group consisting of an alkylene group having 1-5 carbon atoms, a carbonyl group, a sulfonyl group, a fluoroalkylene group having 1-6 carbon atoms, and a divalent group having 2-6 carbon atoms, to which an alkylene unit or a fluoroalkylene unit is bonded via an ether group.) |
