PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for target setting of an advertisement to a user of a social networking website.SOLUTION: A social networking website records information about an action performed by a member. The website provides an advertisement subjected to target setting based on an action of the member and one or more characteristics of the member. The website maintains a profile about the member describing characteristics of the member, such as age, geographical location, employment, academic background and interest. The member profile is compared with a targeting standard for a plurality of advertisement requests, an advertisement request matching the member profile is determined, and the maximum profit for the social networking website is generated. When presenting an advertisement to the member, the website selects an advertisement for maximizing the expectation value of the advertisement from the received advertisements. |
